HO Brass Santa Fe 1956 Budd Hi-Level'El Capitan' Chair Car #533 with Step-Down End. Produced by Sam Model Tech of Korea for The Coach Yard in 2004. Santa Fe's 1956 hi-level'El Capitan' was the very successful result of the railroad's collaboration with the Budd Co.. The extra-height all-chair consist provided its patrons with unsurpassed views of the Southwest scenery on its journey from Los Angeles to Chicago.

The model has been stored in its original box since a few passengers were added to the factory-installed interior. It is, for all practical purposes a new, MINT model. The original box and all packing material and spare parts are in equally NEW, MINT condition. The exceptional level of detail includes full interior with separate headrest on each seat! The flexible car-end diaphragms are unique for these high-level rail cars.

Factory-installed operating couplers make this model entirely track-ready. This model features one car-end with the diaphragm mounted in the high position to mate with other Hi-Level cars, while the opposing car-end features a lower level diaphragm to mate with conventional-level passenger cars which were often part of the'El Cap' consist. This series of models is arguably the finest example of Budd Co's ATSF Hi-Level'El-Capitan' cars ever produced in HO scale.
