GMR Little Plexi Handwired Overdrive Pedal (Kit/Fully Assembled)

GMR "Little Plexi" Handwired Overdrive. In the early 60's a man named Jim Marshall, a drum teacher from Acton West London opened a music store. After lots of suggestions from guitar players in the area he started stocking guitars and amplifiers. Towards the mid 60's he had many customers coming into his store, notably one Pete Townshend. Townshend wanted an amplifier with more volume, saturation and treble. Not being a guitarist or technician, Jim Marshall enlisted the help of Ken Bran (Marshall's repair man) and an apprentice from EMI named Dudley Craven. Between those 3 men they developed an amplifier which is now the bench mark of rock guitar tones. The GMR "Little Plexi" replicates the sound of those early Marshall's (JTM 45, Bluesbreaker, 2061x, Major and Super Lead). Anyone who has tried to use an original Marshall to get those classic tones will know they are very, very LOUD!

Much louder than more modern Marshall amps. Its impractical to play at those volumes these days, most venues mic up your amp or aren't big enough to warrant the volume. The Little Plexi gets those great tones using your amps clean sound at a useable volume. What is the GMRspares Miniature Tagboard?

Most mid 60's electronics were made utilising point to point hand wiring. Many high end boutique pedal makers use tag board meant for amplifiers which is to large to fit in a smaller more practical pedal size. I decided to make my own based on the same principles and from materials freely available in the era. Taking inspiration from Leo Fender I decided to use Vulcanised Fibre board as he did on his pickups and amplifiers.

This means I can miniaturise the tag board design to fit in a smaller case whist keeping the same components. No PCB's or Vero board. Just point to point hand wired goodness. You'll be given the componants and a link to a detailed set of instructions sent to you through here.
